Welcome/Best team in the NBA?

28 01 2008

J: Welcome to Your Wrong, the blog where L is always wrong. Here I will be telling the truth and L will be telling us his mis-guided opinions. I am your host for this ride, and L is ridin’ shotgun. Anyway what should we start with? I’ll start with this. Who’s in your fav. 5?

J

5. Cleveland Cavs – Impressive wins over the Lakers and Wizz, with a tight loss to Phoenix in the middle, and there’s no harm in that. As much as I hate to put a team with this shitty a supporting cast this high. They’re playin’ that well.

4. Boston Celtics – I’m really startin’ to hate all Boston area teams. But there’s no denying how good they are. A loss sans KG to the Magic ain’t too shabby. But after a “gimme” game in Miami, they got Dallas on Thursday, then Cleveland on Tuesday. So we’ll see what this team is made of quite soon.

3. Phoenix Suns – With all the complaining about how they’re “underperforming,” they’ve quietly won 5 of the last 6, dropping only the shocker to Minnesota.

2. Dallas Mavericks – This gives me 3 teams i hate in my top 5. But after lookin’ like a shell of last season for most of the year, they’ve only lost two games in January. Plus, is this still Dirk’s team? I’d have to say ‘no’……

1. New Orleans Hornets – Yeah, thats right. The Hornets are the best team in the L this year. They could get an argument to deserve three all-stars, though they’ll probably only get one (CP3).

But that’s it, those are the five best teams in the NBA.

L

Top 5 teams :
Picking the first 4 teams are easy but there is debate with the 5th team.

1. Celtics (34-8): Easy choice here. When the big three are healthy who can beat them. No team will beat this team in a 7 game series. Their bench is getting better and role players are stepping up (like Rondo, Perkins and even Big Baby). Besides the recent losses they are still the team to beat (only when healthy).

2. Hornets (31-12): They may have the best starting 5 in the league. 2 legitimate all-stars in Paul and West. CP3 has to be considered in the MVP talks thus far in the season. Chandler is a great defender in the paint who can pull every board that comes his way. Two great shooters for CP3 to kick out to. This is a scary team to face come playoffs. I just question their depth.

3. Suns (32-13): Steve Nash is playing better than ever. I think they miss Kurt Thomas in the paint for defense, but they are still a championship contender. They are more hungry after the way they got outed in the playoffs last year. Look to see them in the Western Conference finals.

4. Piston (31-13): The best team chemistry in the league. The defense is still solid. Maxiell is great off the bench, but not having Webber could hurt down the line. If they don’t run into Lebron they have a great chance at the Eastern finals.

5. Mavs (30-13): This was a tough choice. They are still playing great with Dirk having another great season. Josh Howard has stepped it up and their defense is solid. J Kidd??? If and when he comes to Dallas they are definitely a top 3 team in the league.

Almost made it:

Lakers – not without Bynum

Cavs – one solid point guard away from being an elite team

Spurs – age is looking like a real problem

That’s where I see it as of end of Jan. Let the debate begin.

Where's the Love?

J- Man, I wanted to put the Pistons in there, but not how they’re sleepwalkin through the season right now. And as much as I hate to say it, Lebron is by far the best player in the L this year. And how you gonna say the Pistons gonna miss Webber? He sucks, GSW pickin him up was bad. Webber is not gonna help the Dubs. Forreal. He stunk last year, he’s gonna stink this year. And he gonna fuck up the chemistry, why you think Detroit said “good riddance”? Anyway, at least you didn’t say the Knicks.

how are the suns #3. they would outscore both the celtics and hornets. suns are making the finals for sure. they should be #1

YA!

this one is to JORDAN. JORDAN, you should kill yourself. suicide is definitely the answer. i feel sorry for the guy who has to clean you up once you die. he’ll probably kill himself because the sight of seeing you is horrible. i guess you are right tho, the suns should be number one. you are so correct. i mean, the definitely would outscore the hornets. you are bright. i guess you should not kill yourself then. but wait, you are a blithering idiot who should not even have the ability to breath. how many times have the suns played the hornets? three times. how many times did the suns win? zero. so i guess a duchebag like you would even get this right. how many times did the suns outscore the hornets in those games? none! so do the world a favor and slit your throat.

i agree… the suns are not even a top 5 team at all. they suck. the 5th team is the lakers because any team with kobe is a top 5

ben you are such a dumbass…you lakers fans make me sick…you gave us no reason why the suns suck you just say they suck …the suns, even though they haven’t proven it yet, are the best team in the NBA and when the playoffs come around it will be a very tough road (N.0., San Ant., Mavs, etc.) The celtics are overrated–they havent played the suns, spurs, and I don’t think they have played the mavs yet. they are 5-5 in their last ten games and if Brian Scalabrine is in your starting lineup then there is no way you are a contender. My power rankings are:
1. Suns-Well you know-Amare, Hill, Steve, Marion, Bell-best starting lineup in the league-everyone says they play no defense even though they just gave up 77 points to the Bulls (good O with Deng, Hinrich, Gordon)
2. Hornets-Chris Paul is the Man-He gets 20 and 10 every night, he is consitent, and doesnt have an ego
3. Mavs-always going to be good with Dirk and Josh Howard-won four straight which says something
4. Pistons-great team all around-Rasheed, Rip, Chauncey, Flip work so well together
5. Magic-deserve a spot after beating the Celtics last night

o and one more thing Ya! you are stupid too with your little comment about killing yourself and cleaning up the body-what is that all about? You must be sick in the head or something. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!!! “You blithering idiot” Hahahaha

wow no celtics in your 5… who have the best record in the league. and the only reason the magic won last night was because there was no KG. anyone put GS in there because they look good after the 0-6 start

Dude you spelled “you’re” wrong. So “your wrong” is actually wrong – you’re wrong.

sleepwalking or not, if the Pistons aren’t in the top 3 teams in the league, your list is simply wrong. I’ll accept Boston as better because they have the better record, and I’ll accept the Spurs theyr’e the Spurs.

Barring a Sheed-like mental breakdown or a (very rare) injury, does any one really see the Suns, Cavs, or Hornets beating the Pistons in a seven game series?

Kyle

oh, and the Lakers. please, if i hear Stephen A. Smith or other loud mouthed idiots try to tell me that the Lakers are a legit threat to anyone I’ll laugh my ass off. I know people like ben just start to get that tingly feeling anytime they see the yellow and purple, but they have no hope of making the finals. None. Even with a Bynum recovery and a new point guard.

kyle – I don’t remember but didn’t the Cavs beat the Pistons last year, neither made moves and lebron is better… so we can just assume he could beat them again… I can definitely see the suns beating the pistons also. The Hornets, i don’t know because they don’t have that deep a bench, but if it were starting 5 on starting 5 the Hornets absolutely win.

The Pistons want NO part of Lebron in the playoffs. Period.
